2023-2024 University of Hawaii Master Gardener Volunteer Program Application
Thank you for your interest in the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources' (CTAHR) University of Hawaii Master Gardener (UH MG) volunteer program on Oahu. This program is committed to building a volunteer group that will directly assist CTAHR and its efforts in extending knowledge out to the public. The training course will be coordinated statewide and lectures will be offered via Zoom online meeting platform.  In-person training classes will occur at the Urban Garden Center in Pearl City or at other UH facilities, every Friday except holidays from February 10 through the end of May, 2023, 9AM-1PM.

The Urban Garden Center is located at: 955 Kamehameha Highway, Pearl City, 96782

To apply, please fill out the requested information below.  All information will be kept private.  Priority will be placed on those dedicated volunteers that are committed to the training sessions, fulfilling the volunteer requirements of this program, and assisting CTAHR researchers and specialists in extending knowledge to the public.

Master Gardener certification is only awarded to those that complete the training course, 50 hours of required volunteer work, which includes responding to plant questions from home gardeners, and submit the $250 fee. Volunteer requirements can be viewed here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wXdnX68m6vynD-qFtpfXNlRrVFbaiQr5/view?usp=share_link. We are not a professional training program for those in the industry.  Professional industry training can be found with Landscape Industry Council of Hawaii: https://www.hawaiiscape.com/training/
