DFL Mentorship Program-Mentees
Thank you for your interest in the DFL Mentorship Program!

Before filling out the form, ensure that you are eligible for the program based on the requirements outlined below and are able to fulfill all commitments and expectations as a mentee.

Purpose of Mentorship Program:
1. Guide girls from the Middle East on the universities’ admission process.
2. Walk them through and assist them in each step to ensure they submit the best they have
3. Build their self-confidence and self-esteem by improving their set of skills, mainly focusing on their leadership skills.
4. Providing them with the needed knowledge and skills to effectively showcase their own experiences and talents in order to compete with other applicants from all over the world.

Requirements To Apply:
1. You must be applying to the DFL scholarship. If you are accepted into the mentorship program, you will continue to have a mentor regardless of the status of your DFL scholarship application.
2. You must abide by all expectations and fulfill your commitment as a mentee

Benefits of Program:
1. Guidance for the DFL application on the lengthy application process and adequately preparing them for the interviews. Even if you are not accepted at any point in the process, you will still receive support for the remainder of the mentorship program regarding your future career plans.
2. Professional development in constructing effective resumes, cover letters, and developing the necessary professional skills to meet the requirements of the scholarship/other applications you are applying to.
3. Academic development in developing the necessary skills required to transition into the year after and demonstrate your academic competency in interviews.

Responsibilities and Expectations of Mentees:
1. Agree with a mentor on a recurring bi-weekly time.
2. Attend all bi-weekly meetings conducted by their mentors or the organizing committee (1-on-1 sessions or group meetings)
3. Come prepared for bi-weekly meetings and ready to share your thoughts and engage with mentors.
4. Be open and honest with their mentor so they can help them to the best of their knowledge. Could include but is not limited to sharing their life events, real-life experiences and other information that would help the mentor assist them in writing their motivation letters and personal statements.
5. Failure to show full commitment by adhering to the above responsibilities will count as one strike. A maximum of three strikes will result in the exclusion of the mentee from the program.
