OSU Musician Agreement 2023/24

You are a vital part of the Orchestra Southern Utah. Thank you for being willing to share your talents and time as a member of this group. Please note the following obligations on your part:

* You are expected to attend all rehearsals and arrive at least five minutes early to warm up.

* If there is an emergency and you cannot attend, please alert your section leader prior to rehearsal.

* Any musician with solo parts should find a substitute and make sure this person has the appropriate music, if attendance is impossible for a rehearsal or performance.

Each orchestra musician will receive one complimentary ticket per concert (value $10). We would appreciate it if you can find two paying guests per concert or find two people to buy season tickets ($40, available at www.myosu.org).

In addition, you have an option for the per concert stipend. We can’t possibly pay you what you are worth, but we want to recognize your dedication to OSU.

Please check your preference for this season:

$30 each for Concert: Oct. Concert, Children’s Jubilee, Nov. Concert, Children’s Jubilee, Winter Concert, and Spring Concert for a total of $150. Please note this payment is contingent on 100% attendance for the rehearsals and performances. (No payment for Messiah.)

Donation to OSU: $150 tax deduction letter.

Clear selection

Mileage for service to a non-profit is deductible. Keep track of the miles and there is a standard mileage allowance published each tax year. At the request of those who are coming more than 80 miles round trip for each rehearsal the Board has approved $30 per concert travel reimbursement contingent upon perfect attendance. Please indicate if you are eligible and would like this reimbursement.
