The Mars Climate Modeling Center at NASA Ames Research Center will host a virtual modeling tutorial November 13--15, 2023. The tutorial will contain two parts. The first part will focus on teaching users how to analyze model output with the Community Analysis Pipeline (CAP), which is an open-source python-based analysis toolkit. The second part will focus on teaching users how to use the new NASA Ames Mars Global Climate Model (GCM), which is based on the NOAA/GFDL cubed-sphere finite volume (FV3) dynamical core and the Ames Legacy GCM physics. The tutorial will include lectures and hands-on sessions using the Science Managed Cloud Environment (SMCE). Access to the SMCE will be provided. Students, teachers, and researchers with a range of numerical modeling experiences are encouraged to participate.
