Who is United Way UK?
United Way UK is a national charity with the aim of providing support to local communities to ensure every family and every individual can reach their full potential through good education, financial stability, and healthy lives. We encourage people and organisations to support the local communities in which they live, work, and raise their children, through recognising each community's specific needs, resources and expertise. United Way UK is part of United Way Worldwide network, the world's largest privately-funded non-profit organisation, present in more than 1400 communities in 42 countries.
The Give Local COVID-19 Response
United Way UK is working in partnership with businesses and other charitable organisations to reduce the impact of COVID-19 in local communities across the UK. We recognise that many local charities are providing invaluable support on the frontline of disadvantaged communities. The Give Local COVID-19 Response aims to identify those small, local charities carrying out COVID-19 relief measures in support of vulnerable communities, to award them with grants to enhance and amplify their work.
The UK has mobilised quickly in raising significant financial support for health care demands, in response to the COVID-19 crisis. The Give Local COVID-19 Response focuses on complementing current health initiatives across the UK through focusing on the wider consequences of COVID-19. The causes to be prioritised by the Give Local COVID-19 Response include education, financial stability, food insecurity, disability, mental health and domestic violence.
The Give Local COVID-19 Response is only possible thanks to the generosity of our partners 3M, Travelers, Cymatics and The Toro Company.
