The folks at STLI are here to help A&S instructors who are teaching remotely this summer.   One of the main ways we can help is with our Online Teaching Assistant (OTA) program. STLI has been using specially trained Graduate Students as OTAs for a number of years to provide a direct line of support to our summer online instructors for any technical questions or concerns.

OTAs will support faculty in a variety of remote teaching functions as they deliver remote courses in Summer 2021 sessions. They will provide assistance with the various tools and technologies used in remote teaching such as Blackboard, Panopto, Zoom, and so forth. The OTAs will be available via OnlineHelp@wm.edu to respond to faculty technical concerns from 8:00am to 6:00pm daily from June 1- August 6.  

Please note that OTAs are not traditional teaching assistants, in that they will not fulfill tasks like grading and facilitating course activities.  

To opt in for OTA support, please fill out the form below by May 24. OTAs will then be enrolled as “administrative course designer” in your course(s) so they can assist you as the need arises.
