I/We the undersigned believe:  As part of implementing the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (the infrastructure bill),  federal and state agencies must provide employers a concise way to apply for a waiver of regulatory hiring barriers. These regulations prevent tens of millions of Americans with conviction histories from pursuing the careers of their choice and they prevent employers from hiring the skilled talent they need to meet their business objectives.

The undersigned call(s) on federal and state agencies to collaborate with directly impacted people and  their supporters to help identify which regulations should be subject to waiver, to help design an effective regulatory waiver process, and to help ensure that the process is put in place as quickly as possible.

As outlined in What’s Next Washington’s Proposal Letter On the Federal Infrastructure Bill - Access to Jobs for People With Conviction Histories Letter, the suggested reforms would expand employment opportunities while maintaining workplace safety and productivity.
