The Lisbon Community Activities database
The idea of a Lisbon Community Activity platform emerged from brainstorming about how to build community between events at the Newcomers Welcome Club and Open Coffee meetings

Please sign up if you are
a) interested in getting involved in other people's activities
or
b) getting the word out about your own community activity.

If you have an community project that will be of benefit to our community, we may well be interested in some kind of partnership.

Please note that you should only share information here that you are happy to share with other people interested in getting involved in community projects.

The role of this Community Activities database will be to spread the word, and put people in touch with each other. We are not taking responsibility for the success, failure, or quality of events. We expect people to sign up to our inclusive values
we welcome all who welcome all
Don't be creepy
No scams
values.
but can't guarantee it. if anyone has complaints, contact me (richardlucas@richardlucas.com)

About the Lisbon Newcomer Welcome Club

Newcomers Clubs are both for people who are new in town, and those who want to welcome them.

They are distinctive compared to a regular meet up in that there are games and integration activities that make it easy to meet new people.

We work on the assumption that if our events work for a somewhat shy person, they will work for self confident people as well.

Our meetup group is here  https://www.meetup.com/lisbon-newcomers-welcome-group where we list our events. Our newsletter is here https://lisboncommunityevents.substack.com/

The idea of a Newcomers Welcome club was spun off from the launch of Village in the City - Krakow. The idea of Village in the City world wide is to maintain and sustain the community spirit that sometimes emerged during Covid and help build back better and stronger than before..

Since its launch in 2020 Village in the City  has spread to many countries around the world. You can see them here https://villageinthecity.net/put-your-village-on-the-map.

Our goals, purpose and values are described here  https://villageinthecity.net

You can see and hear the founder Mark McKergow talking about how the project came into being on the TEDxKazimierz stage here
