Scholar Clubs Overview

Thank you so much for your scholar’s interest in our scholar clubs program! As you may be aware, we will be utilizing Google Classrooms to support our scholar clubs program, as well as Zoom, to host our scholar club meetings. Your scholar’s safety in a virtual environment is always a top priority for us. As such, we ask that when your scholar signs into their classroom, they use their Compass provided email.

Google Classroom: Within the next week, there will be a notification sent to your scholar’s Compass email address stating that they have been added to the appropriate Google Classroom(s) for their scholar club(s). Please check your scholar’s Compass email inbox and accept the invitation by clicking “join” in order to receive the club communications. To use the full benefits of the Google Classroom, please ensure that the scholar email address is being used to access the Classroom. Note - Scholar Leadership Council uses a system called Board on Track instead of Google Classroom.

Club Communication: Our club advisors will primarily communicate about clubs via the Google Classroom for their club. After your scholar accepts the invitation to join the Google Classroom for the club, information about upcoming club meetings and other helpful information regarding your scholars’ club(s) will be automatically sent to the Compass email address for your scholar. Note - Scholar Leadership Council uses a system called Board on Track instead of Google Classroom.

Club Meeting: As a reminder, here is the club meeting schedule. All our scholar club meetings will be held in Zoom. The Zoom link will be made available in the Google Classroom for the scholar club prior to the meeting date and time. Please do not share the Zoom link with anyone who is not a member of the scholar club. In order to join the Zoom club meeting, please ensure that your scholar is signed into their Compass Zoom account. If your scholar has difficulties signing into Zoom, please utilize these instructions for logging into Zoom.
