November 9, 2019 marks the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, making it an appropriate time to share stories from societies partitioned by walls, literal or figurative. We will screen a video that takes a look at the East/West divide that still exist in Germany today, then have an interactive discussion with people for whom division has been a reality.
Come hear the perspective of someone who lived in Germany during the Cold War, someone who experienced life in the segregated American South, someone who lived in Northern Ireland before the Good Friday agreement, and someone who was born in Cameroon before reunification.
The Bertelsmann Foundation cordially invites you to join us on an autumn Saturday afternoon in Maryland's beautiful Agricultural Reserve – a short drive from Washington, DC, and Baltimore – where we can learn from our past, reflect on our future, and enjoy each other's company in the meantime.
Families and children welcome. This event is FREE. Dinner and refreshments will be provided.
