The Soul Tape Community Summit is Speak to My Soul's Hip-Hop based conference for youth (ages 13-19) and community members of all ages that raise and support them. Speak to My Soul dedicates one full day of engaging workshops led by artists, leaders and educators in the community using Hip-Hop lyrics as the foundation of each session. The themes of each workshop align with topics that evoke necessary conversations with youth giving them the chance to talk through relatable issues in a safe space. We aim to teach life skills such as team building, community engagement, self-love, respect for others, communication and creativity among others.

We also invite parents, mentors and educators to join us in our adult workshops arranged to learn how to best support our youth in our schools, homes and community. These workshops are led by experienced mentors, licensed therapists and community advocates.

We end the summit with fun and exciting performances, an improvement award recipient nominated by educators and community leaders and raffles. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided. This event is registration based and FREE to all.

Objectives:

Identity: Finding Your Voice

We aim for those who attend the summit to learn how to build confidence in
themselves through expressionism. We want attendees to be provided tools to trust their voice. Our responsibility is to create a safe space for attendees to have raw and respectful conversations. The facilitator's job is to lay the foundation for discussion and support those in attendance.

Self Love - Affirmations & Healing

We aim to encourage attendees to live in their truth no matter what their background is. This empowerment
piece is crucial to the development of our community as a supportive place of love and warmth as they affirm who they are and who they wish to be.

Community Building - Encouraging Leadership

We aim to encourage attendees to stand up for what they believe in while standing for others in their community. We do this by providing support and guidance with their ideas to change the world and community they live in.
