The Milk + Honey Co. professional services enables your clients to have caring, comprehensive cultural care with access to prenatal, breastfeeding and postpartum support while implementing evidence based knowledge to empower families for an optimal pregnancy, labor, a joyful breast or chest feeding experience leading to a thriving postpartum recovery.

Certified Breastfeeding Specialists have the skills to provide breastfeeding education and counseling; to address normal breastfeeding in healthy, term infants; and to conduct maternal and infant assessments of anatomy, latch, and positioning while providing support to families in the hospital and community settings. These include Certified Breastfeeding Specialists (CBS) such as myself. CBS's do not provide clinical care.

Postpartum Doulas are skilled support persons who act as consultants and resources, not clinicians. We work with the healthcare system by encouraging and promoting excellent communication between the new family and the health care team, encouraging informed decision making and self-advocacy, supporting the choices of the new family, providing non-clinical care, and offering appropriate resources when their observance or counseling uncovers situations that require healthcare attention or support.
