If you can have full-function USB-C (with DisplayPort and Power Delivery included), do you really need Thunderbolt then?
The laptop can be charged from both USB-C ports, left and right. You can use USB-C/DP docking stations that provide a native DisplayPort signal which can be used on multiple monitors if your docking station is equipped with an MST splitter. Why do you need Thunderbolt? eGPU? Special peripherals? You really need the 40 Gbit/s in data? 10 Gbit/s are not enough for your audio, USB devices and RJ45 LAN? Consider a laptop without Thunderbolt could be offered at a lower price. Would it be a deal-breaker fro you?
