Edits to the LPL Resource Guide

This Google Form will live on the Lawrence Public Library website year round so that human service organizations can update us on changes to service offerings at any time. Find the resource guide here: https://lplks.org/community-resources/.

If you have any questions or need to contact us directly about significant changes to your service offerings, please email the Community Resource Specialist, Gabby Boyle at gboyle@lplks.org.

When making a submission to the guide, try to use succinct and plain language to describe your services and how people can access them. This guide is used daily by people with a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and needs; we want to keep it easy to navigate and understand!

Selection & Inclusion Criteria for Service Information
The community resource guide is a comprehensive list of free and/or low-cost resources. It is a publicly available resource meant to help individuals navigate challenging life circumstances. To be included in the community resource guide, your organization must provide services that are:
  • Accessible at low or no cost (IE free, sliding scale, subsidized services, donation-based, payment plans, income-driven payments etc)

  • Directly supportive to community members (IE healthcare, financial assistance, shelter, food, childcare, employment resources, training or classes, case management, treatment programs, legal or personal advocacy, transportation, resource navigation etc.)

  • Available to people living in Lawrence and/or Douglas County

Please note that the Community Resource Guide is not appropriate for organizations that only work in the areas of awareness, research, prevention, policy or advocacy, technical assistance, coalition building, consulting, etc. The Community Resource Guide is also not appropriate for organizations that require an external referral to receive services; it is a public facing document and the library does not provide case management or formal referrals.

If you’re not sure if your organization meets these criteria, email Gabby Boyle at gboyle@lplks.org. There are many partnership opportunities outside of the Community Resource Guide and we’d love to learn more about your organization and how we can partner to better support our neighbors!
