Please enter you contact information here to register for the event.

After entrants have designed and built their bridges, they will bring the bridges for testing on Saturday, February 25, 2023 between 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. to the Building 11 Auditorium at the Georgia Tech Research Institute Cobb County Research Facility (2001 Dixie Ave, Smyrna, GA 30080).

Participants can watch live as their bridge is tested or drop off their bridge and watch over an online webcast.

The event is open to all; participants may enter individually or in teams.

Participants may enter one of two categories, Toothpick or Open materials. Toothpick Category for bridges weighing up to 121 grams constructed of only wooden toothpicks and glue. Open Category for bridges weighing up to 60 grams constructed of any materials.

During Technical Inspection, the bridges will be measured against the bridge specifications including overall dimensions, span, and weight and assigned to a material category.

During the event, bridges will be tested to failure; we will break your bridge.  Bridges will not be returned to participants.

After testing, a certificate will be generated for each participant.  The certificate will include the participant’s name, breaking force of the bridge, weight of the bridge, and breaking-force-to-weight ratio of the bridge.
