Warwick Chess Alumni Summer Party 2024

The University of Warwick Chess Alumni Association cordially invites members, partners, and plus-ones, to our Summer Party 2024, in central London. All the following locations are within a 5-10 minute walk of each other.

1.30 PM: Early-Bird Drinks (The Red Lion, Mayfair)
2.30-4.30 PM: Summer Party & Outdoor Chess (St James' Square)
{£15, inclusive of entry / tournament / light refreshments, & drinks - cocktails/alcoholic/soft}

SJS is owned by the clubs around the square; Dress Code: Shirt & Jacket / Dresses / Smart Separates. It is a private garden, so call Hok for access (07804 401784). If it rains, we will make alternative plans.

3-4.00 PM: Handicapped Blitz/Variant Tournament (tbc)
Prize: East India Club Wine.
Entries: First 20 sign-ups guaranteed a spot. For our last Blitz, it filled up in two days, so don't blame us, if you forget about it! It is a social drinks, so you also do not have to play chess. Equally, if you do play, we will ensure the variant/piece handicap that balances the strengths of the stronger players with the beginners!
