About School Site Council

What is a School Site Council?
A School Site Council is a peer-elected decision-making group of parents, teachers, and school staff that has as its major responsibility the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Single-School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA).

The purpose of the School Site Council is to encourage improvements to meet the educational, personal, and career needs of ALL the students at the school through a collaborative decision-making process.

What does a School Site Council do?
  • Participants examine student data, help in creating school goals, and assure school funds are used to improve our students' academic performance and social-emotional well-being.
  • Work on the School Emergency Management (SEM) plan for the school.
  • As a member, you will have an inside view of the decision-making process and all the programs that go into making Wildwood Elementary the best school it can be...for every student!
Requirements for School Site Members
  • Each member is elected to serve a two-year term.
  • Attend monthly meetings held from 4:00-5:00pm on the last Tuesday of every month.

Self Nomination Process

Wildwood Elementary has several positions available for the 2023-2024 School Site Council. Any interested candidate must prepare a statement that will introduce you to the Wildwood community, following the guidelines below. Your statement will be included on the BALLOT. BALLOT voting will only take place if more candidates submit their names for consideration than positions allow.

Submit your statement no later than Friday, May 19.

The election (if needed) will take place electronically with BALLOT forms sent to families on Sunday, May 28, 2023 and voting will close at 4pm on Friday, June 2. Candidates will be notified by Monday, June 5 and we will have our SSC team in place for the start of the 2023-2024 school year.

Guidelines for completing the Parent Statement below:
  • Briefly introduce yourself and your family
  • Share your ideas, vision, and/or concern for Wildwood Elementary (If you're relatively new to Wildwood Elementary, feel free to share your hopes)
  • Limit your statement to 150 words or less. (Your statement will be included on the BALLOT)
