Share the Plate Nominations: August 2021-July 2022
Our Share the Plate program gives us the opportunity to show tangible support to organizations who are doing good work in our community. We split selected Sunday plate offerings 50/50 with groups nominated and voted on by the Members of TVUUC. Some examples of past organizations are: Planned Parenthood of Middle & East TN, Centro Hispano, Beardsley Community Farm, Ijams Nature Center, etc. As of May of this year, we have been able to give over $7,600 to organizations in our community and beyond. Thanks to everyone who gave to support Share the Plate to make this amazing contribution possible!

The nomination period for the 2021-22 year is now open. TVUUC Members and Friends will need to use the form below to nominate an organization to be supported by the Share the Plate program. Members and Pledging Friends will have opportunity to vote on nominated organizations.
Sunday, June 27 -Sunday, July 5 – Online nominations will be received for any organization that a
Member or Friend of TVUUC wishes to nominate.
The Share the Plate team will organize and verify each organization nominated.
Sunday, July 11 - Monday, July 19 – Online voting period for Members and Pledging Friends of TVUUC.
Sunday, July 25 – the 12 organizations with the most votes of the TVUUC Members and Pledging Friends will be announced.

Please note there were some changes to the program made in the 2018-19 year. 6 organizations are now considered part of the TVUUC "Social Funding Network" and will automatically be included in the Sunday Offering schedule as "Designated Offerings". They do not need to be nominated. These organizations are:
1. Family Promise
2. FISH Food Pantry
3. Lonsdale Mentoring Program
4. TVUUC Community Gardens
5. Volunteer Ministry Center Meals
6. TVUUC Advancing Equality Fund
* The Children's Diversity & Justice Library is included in the TVUUC General Operating Budget. It cannot be a Share the Plate nomination, however it may be included in a Designated Offering Sunday, at the Senior Minister's discretion.

TVUUC Members and Friends will nominate organizations. TVUUC Members and Pledging Friends will vote to fill 12 spots for the 2021-22 fiscal year. Each organization will have two Share the Plate Sundays beginning in August 2021.
The Senior Minister will have 6 Sundays for Designated Offerings (plus the Christmas Eve Service collection for the TVUUC Helping Fund).
One Sunday per month will be a "Stewardship/Generosity" Sunday, with all offerings going to the TVUUC Operating Budget.
