Thanks for volunteering to help clean up the river as part of the French Broad River Festival! Sign-up is first come, first serve so please don't sign up until you are 100% sure that you can attend. September 1 (or soon after signing up) you will receive an initial confirmation that you are signed up or on waiting list, and final confirmations up to the cleanup as the number of boats or participants may change. The cleanup is hosted by our friends at Nantahala Outdoor Center and sponsored by Sierra Nevada, Riverlink, Valley Waste. Volunteers arrive at the Nantahala Outdoor Center - French Broad outpost (9825 US-25 Marshall, NC) at 9 am on Thursday September 30th for a meeting and 9:30 am departure in the NOC shuttle to the Barnard put-in. On the river we'll pick up trash and some treasure and enjoy class 2-3 rapids in the process. NOC will provide a riverside snack and depending on the water level we'll arrive at the takeout (Stackhouse) around mid-day for gifts, refreshments, and photos and expect to shuttle back to NOC in the early afternoon. (please note that NOC is unable to shuttle private boats). Volunteers will receive discount coupons to the festival (or rebate if tickets already purchased). If you have questions email
frenchbroadfest@gmail.com or call Sid at 828-230-4054.
* Masks will be required on shuttle and see website
www.frenchbroadriverfestival.com for proof of vaccination requirements to attend
