Contemporary Afrikaans Linguistics
THE AIM OF THIS QUESTIONNAIRE IS TO ENABLE THE EDITORS TO DO BASIC MARKET RESEARCH ABOUT WHAT THE LIKELY TARGET AUDIENCE FOR A VOLUME FOCUSING ON CONTEMPORARY AFRIKAANS LINGUISTICS MIGHT WANT TO SEE IN A VOLUME OF THIS KIND.

Note that all of these questions are optional and some may not apply to you. For example, if you are a layperson you will not necessarily be able to answer questions regarding university courses and their content. We value all input, however, and would be grateful if you could complete all questions that apply to you.

NB: The volume, as currently envisaged, would include chapters giving an overview of the following aspects of contemporary Afrikaans Linguistics: the development of Afrikaans Linguistics, the history of Afrikaans, language change in Afrikaans, syntax (from three different perspectives: traditional, functional, generative), morphology, phonetics, phonology, semantics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, Kaaps as a variety of Afrikaans, Afrikaans as a creole, Afrikaans normative linguistics, the acquisition of Afrikaans.
