Dear Fleming Countians,

From time to time, members of the Fleming County Schools community have distinguished
themselves in ways that have brought great honor and pride to our community. This includes
teachers, students and staff members who have in some way achieved notoriety in their chosen
area of expertise. Such individuals may have attained state and/or national recognition, or in
some way been recognized by their community/peers for outstanding achievement. Those fields
may include but are not limited to, education, business, legal service, politics and government,
military service, athletics, theatre, and the arts, philanthropic endeavors, and community service.

On Tuesday, March 23, 2021, the Fleming County High School SBDM gave initial approval for Coach Ted Purcell to be inducted into the newly formed Monument Park. The next phase requires a 90-day public input period, but it is not a vote. Those who would like to provide input may do so using the survey below. The survey will close on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at 5:00 pm. In the meantime, an Ad Hoc Committee will convene to take the next step in the process.

Inductees will be honored with a personalized monument that will be displayed in perpetuity at Monument Park. Monument Park inductees will be announced annually, by August 1st, after a rigorous evaluation process. An Inductee Ceremony will occur at the most feasible date after the announcement on August 1st and the creation of the inductee monument. The Monument Park will be located on the Fleming County High School campus.
