The enormous air pollution affects the health and well-being of the residents of Skopje and urgent action is needed! 🌍😷
The Skopje Climate Assembly will gather citizens from different backgrounds who will discuss with experts and prepare recommendations on how to deal with air pollution. These recommendations will then be presented to the City of Skopje and the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning.
What is your role? As an international observer, you will monitor the proceedings of the assembly to ensure that they are conducted in a transparent and fair manner. Observers ensure that the assembly is open to a diverse range of voices and perspectives and that marginalized groups have the opportunity to participate. Observers do not participate in the decision-making process or directly influence the results. They maintain a neutral attitude. International observers can bring a global perspective and share best practices from other regions dealing with air pollution and environmental issues.
Let's work together to create a healthier future for Skopje. Join us in the fight against air pollution! 🌿
*Application deadline: November 15, 2023
*Kindly be informed that financial reimbursement is not provided for the observers, as the project operates within a fixed budget. We do extend an opportunity for you to take part in North Macedonia's inaugural Climate Assembly, allowing you to gain valuable insights from engaging in this democratic process.
The Skopje Climate Assembly is run by ZIP Institute and financially supported by the European Climate Foundation, Council of Europe - Elections and Participatory Democracy, the City of Skopje, and the German Federal Foundation for the Environment (DBU).
