In our class we use Scratch, free software from Massachusetts Institute of Technology designed by MIT to introduce students to coding. Learners of all ages use Scratch to make animations, video games and program sensors using a visual programming interface.
Scratch is designed for students to share and learn from each other’s work. With your permission, your child may create a free online account for this purpose. Otherwise, to edit and play the program that we'll make in class or others like it, you may download the offline editor and send a USB flash drive with your student.
A parent letter explaining both options and with links to more information about Scratch is available here: https://www.gigalearnit.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Scratch-Instructions-Updated.pdf
By checking this box you consent to your child creating an online account.
