Statement of Beliefs The Chapter, as an organization, endorses the historic Christian faith as summarized in the following five points. (
Note: Members may personally disagree with this statement but must support the Chapter in its endeavor to promote and defend these enumerated beliefs).
- We believe that there is one God, creator of heaven and earth, eternally subsisting in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Deut 6:4; Col 2:9; Heb 1:1-3; Matt 28:19; John 14:15-17, 25-26; 16:7-15).
- We believe that the Christian Scriptures are God's written revelation to humanity and are divinely inspired (θεόπνευστος), authoritative, historically reliable, and sufficient to provide wisdom that leads to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ (2 Tim 3:14-17). [Note: "God's written revelation" does not deny human authorship of the Scriptures nor does it entail divine dictation.]
- We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ (i.e. personal identity with the Second Person of the Trinity, the Son), His true humanity, virgin birth, sinless life, miraculous earthly ministry, death on a cross to provide for the redemption of believers, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, present ministry of intercession for all believers, and future physical return to earth in power and glory (1 Cor 15:1-19; 2 Cor 5:21; Phil 2:5-11; Heb 7:22-28; 1 John 2:1).
- We believe in the deity of the Holy Spirit (i.e. personal identity with the Third Person of the Trinity), that He performs the miracle of regeneration and indwells believers, enabling them to live a godly life (1 Cor 12:13; 1 Cor 2:10-13; Rom 8:26-27).
- We believe that humanity was created in the image of God, but because of sin, became alienated from God. That alienation can be removed only by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ, apart from works (Eph 2:1-10).
Non-Discrimination StatementThe Chapter prohibits discrimination, including harassment, on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, religion, sex, disability, age, sexual orientation, or veteran status in organizational activities.
