Your membership contribution is used 100% for charitable purposes to benefit our school community. Funds help support classroom supplies, teacher appreciation, student clubs and activities, and more. We meet Maryland State PTSA standards and our non-profit tax ID # is 03-0449981.

Standing Committees

Please check all that apply. Committees typically meet by phone every other month.

Advocacy Committee (phone calls, letters, and/or attendance at Board of Ed meetings to advocate for funding, training and certification, and materials for our public Montessori school. Communicate with elected officials, school board members, and County staff about policy decisions impacting our school.)

Communications Committee (help post Facebook updates, website updates, take photos.)

Membership Committee (help encourage new members to join and existing members to renew.)

Fundraising Committee (coordinate restaurant nights, skate nights, and other events - proceeds help pay for arts integration, classroom materials, and more.)

Spring Earth Day (Held once a year and promotes environmental education for school.)

School Spirit (Work with school staff to make improvements that enhance school spirit. For example improving the stage and performance space, creating a reading nook, multicultural flag display, etc.)

Classroom Wish Lists (Take the lead to organize parents in your classroom to fulfill your teacher’s wish. Work with your teacher to identify class materials or other special way to invest in your class.)

Game Night (Help needed to organize this proposed event.)

Spring Staff Appreciation Week (A tribute to all RGMS teachers, staff and bus drivers. Help organize staff breakfast, recruit volunteers, secure food donations, and purchase and distribute gifts.)

Fall Staff Appreciation Lunch (Welcome back-to-school lunch for staff during last week of August.)

Career Day (Help recruit volunteers to talk about their careers (firefighter, police, professionals, etc.)

Middle School Science Fair (Help recruit parents or science volunteers to judge the science fair.)

Playground Meetups (Host a playground meetup to build community and meet other RGMS families.)

Men Make a Difference Day (Recruit male role models and help coordinate logistics, this typically occurs on Columbus Day)
