Parent Input regarding Return-to-School Models
On Friday, July 17, 2020, Governor Gavin Newsom shared new guidance from the California Public Health Department regarding the return to school for in-person instruction. Based on the new guidance, LGSD will have to open the school year in a distance learning phase.

However, as infection rates decline and the risk factors improve, we are planning to phase into in-person learning for the other types of learning phases. It is important to note that there is a high probability, depending on what happens with COVID19 infection rates, we may have to move back and forth between the different phases of distance learning, hybrid, and full in-person instruction, throughout the course of the 2020-21 school year.

Please respond to this survey letting us know your preferred phases of returning to school; as the public health guidelines permit.

1. I am in favor of LGSD beginning the school year in a distance learning phase, due to the current rate of COVID-19 infections in our county. *
2. Once the County Public Health guidance permits, I am in favor of transitioning to a "Hybrid Learning" model - 2 days a week on campus and 3 days remote learning. *
If you answered 'No' or 'Undecided' to Question #2, can you please share what are your concerns  (optional)?
3. Once state/county Public Health orders allow us to return to school, do you have any reservations about sending your student back full-time, 5 days a week before a vaccine or cure for COVID-19? *
4. I have already decided that it's best for my student to remain in a full distance learning program (remote only) until there is a cure or vaccine for COVID-19. I am making this choice due to health concerns for my child and/or a vulnerable family member that lives in the house. *
