Sharpsburg Home Repair Fund
Sharpsburg Neighborhood Organization (SNO) has created the Sharpsburg Home Repair Fund through a grant from Duquesne Light Company. This fund allows low-income households to access up to $250 each for qualified home repairs or upgrades that will improve energy efficiency in their homes. Examples include energy efficient doors and windows, weatherization kits, new insulation, energy efficient water heaters, weather stripping, furnaces, and appliances, and LED lightbulbs. Any home repair project that improves energy efficiency will be considered. These type of upgrades can reduce your utility bills, lower your carbon footprint, and save you money. This program is open to both RENTERS (with your landlord's permission) and HOMEOWNERS.

An applicant must show verification that a project is underway or complete in order to receive the funds. This may include copies of receipts, work orders, or photos of completed work. We will consider dispersing funds before any purchases have been made on a case by case basis. Households that have completed an eligible project in the last 2 years can apply for a reimbursement and will only be considered if project funds are not expended on new projects.

If an eligible household is interested but is not sure how to use the money, we can recommend they take advantage of SNO's free home energy assessment program: https://forms.gle/9pdDCgpaods9Qea19. This service will result in a recommendation for a targeted home repair or energy efficiency project for your home and up to an additional $100 towards that project.
