Applications should be submitted when qualification criteria are met and in a timely manner so as to give MVNSEF Board members time to review the application. Applications must include the following:
Applicants awarded funding are expected to give back to the Methow
Valley Nordic ski community in a meaningful way. Fulfillment of the
community service obligation must be completed before an athlete is
eligible for further funding. Community service can include coaching at
ski camps, donating time/services to MVN fundraising events, speaking engagements (in person or virtual) to club members
or the broader community, video or newsletter updates from the road, or
similar MVN community activities.
Funding for qualifying athletes will be determined based on available
funds. In the case of insufficient funds for full funding, the
Committee will determine payment based on a formula that applies to all
applicants.
The funding committee reviews applications on a rolling basis. The
committee consists of two current MVNSEF Board members (not to include
any individual with a potential conflict of interest) and the MVNSEF
Executive Director. The Funding Committee operates by consensus and
recommends award decisions to the Board of Directors. Procedures and
operational changes put forth by the committee will be submitted to the
Board of Directors for consideration.
