Thank you for your interest in building a network of SAISD alumni who are interested in helping SAISD students and our young alumni gain exposure to the wide range of careers in San Antonio and the surrounding areas. Our hope is that you will also help us reconnect with the talented alumni who have graduated from San Antonio ISD high schools.
We are looking for SAISD alumni who:
→ Have a demonstrated record of service to the community and/or their profession through active involvement and/or key leadership positions.
→ Reside in San Antonio, Bexar County, or the surrounding area, or have a business based in the San Antonio area.
→ Are alumni of an SAISD high school, or built their educational foundation in SAISD schools.
→ Have 5 or more years of professional work experience.
→ Obtained a postsecondary credential (industry certifications, associate degree, bachelor’s degree, etc.)
What do we ask of you? We ask that you apply, learn, connect, and share.
APPLY: Apply by August 4, 2023 by completing this form.
LEARN & CONNECT: Join us for a kickoff breakfast on Thursday, August 31, 2023, with our 2nd annual class of 30+ alumni professionals to learn about current issues affecting our students, get tips on how to best inspire them in making career choices, learn about the successes and challenges in SAISD, meet some of the District's leadership, including Superintendent Dr. Jaime Aquino, and learn about the work of the SAISD Foundation.
SHARE: We ask you to commit in one or more of the following ways, which we anticipate would amount to 1-2 hours of service a month:
** Offer/Share career exploration opportunities like job shadow days.
** Be a career speaker at your middle or high school campus.
** Participate in alumni panel discussions with high school or college students.
** Provide internship opportunities for high school or college students through SA Worx, the City of San Antonio Ambassadors program, or a program of your own.
** Participate in networking events with peers and recent SAISD alumni.
** Connect us with others you think would want to become part of the network.
** Advocate for SAISD and share the work of the SAISD Foundation in your network.
