Summary

This project aims to develop and implement an educational tool among European social makers to increase the positive resolution of conflicts through understanding the cultural differences, active listening and negotiation skills.
The specific objectives are:
to analyse the phenomenon of conflict management at any level: personal, professional, local, national and international;
to lay the foundation for a better intervention for conflicts on local and international level;
to help out for a better understanding the educational consequences;
to provide educational insights into practical tools, reflections on proactive methods, exchange of good practices with Non-formal education methods;
to increase the international cooperation: networking and advocating, to create the best condition for mutual understanding;
to create an educational tool/role play game to analyse the conflict situation and improve the soft skills needed during the conflict situation.

Activities

The core activity of the MORE is a training course from 25th October to 02nd November 2021, where 29 participants from 9 countries: Uk, Albania, Hungary, Ukraine, Greece, Latvia, Italy, Belgium, Spain, coming from 10 organization (Asfar, Act for Society, Tamazpont Mopka, Vzayemopomich, United Societies of Balkans, Project Net, Giosef, Creativity Platform, System and generation International Association, Asociación Las Niñas del Tul ) will reflect and work -together with 2 trainers- on the implementation of an educational tool for conflict management.
Each country involved will share good practices on the topic and all the participants will learn from one another. At the end of the project, the educational tool will be shared with all the partners and this will be the basis for developing new ideas of collaboration on the same topic. The participants will be youth worker, youth leaders, teachers, trainers and facilitators active in their local community from 18+ years old with attention to gender balance.

Expected results and Impact

The results and impact will be to create a better understanding of the phenomenon of conflict management both locally and globally.
Furthermore, participants will be more aware of this phenomenon in all aspects of life and able to manage these types of situations -in their daily work- more successfully. They can also create debates, conduct seminars on the subject and even identify conflict situations that they have had to face in the past.
In the complexity of today's world and its issues, the ability to profitably manage a conflict becomes crucial. The new generations play a crucial role in this process. In particular, knowing how to mediate between the different positions in a discussion, in order to obtain a win-win situation, is an increasingly central ability in personal and professional life.
In addition, listening skills, empathy, negotiation and effective communication are at the basis of the construction of that global citizenship, the goal of UNESCO's 2020-2030 Agenda. A dialoguing and open attitude towards the positions of others, acting - according to what the philosopher Immanuel Kant said - assuming that those in front of us have a higher degree of truth than ours, seems to be the basis of an answer to the increasingly pervasive problem of radicalization and of violence, in its ancient and new forms. The project is part of the Council of Europe initiative "No hate speech movement" to combat hatred and violence online and defend human rights.
All partner organizations have professional volunteers and youth workers. We expect that participants will disseminate the results of the project during their regular activities in schools and in the organization, and will start a new approach in their short and long term local activities. They will organize local events and write new projects in the Erasmus + Program using the educational tools learned during the training course. Some of the partners are also members of European networks (Eurodesk e.g) so they can share the results of the project on the social channels of these networks and to their regional and national meetings.
In addition, the project will also have an impact on the community of Veresegyhaz, a small village in northern Hungary. It is not common for locals to see a large group of 29 "foreign people" move around, this will have a positive impact on the economy and population. This will certainly increase the visibility of the project, the youth center and the Erasmus + program.

Participants profile

The project is aimed at youth workers, youth leaders, teachers and trainers. In collaboration with our partners we will choose the participants based on their motivation, follow-up ideas for the results of the project in their local communities, plans on how to use the educational tool in their daily work with their target groups.
All this variety of participants' backgrounds offers added value to the projects and expected results. We expect participants to be equally distributed between women and men over 18 years.

Dissemination and Exploitation of the results

The aim of the project is to define the Role Play Game on conflict management called MORE. For this purpose, we expect that our active and motivated participants will contribute in each phase of the process.
The dissemination of the training course results is a crucial part of the project.
Each participant will get at least a pdf version of the Role Game, it will be translated by her/his national group in his mother tongue during the training course. S/he will use this version to test the game among her/his volunteers, students and/or group of youngsters. This process needs to be documented by pictures or videos.
We expect that the final users/players of this game are youngsters from schools and/or youth centre from 16+ years.
