About African American Arts Alliance (4A)
The African American Arts Alliance, or 4A for short, is Penn's Black theatre club dedicated to promoting Black performance, art, and theatre for the campus community.

4A returned from a four-year hiatus in Spring 2023. is looking forward to its first production since Fall 2019! This Spring we'll be mounting a production, to be decided, based on the interests and availability of new and returning members. If you may want to be involved in any way, please let us know on this Interest Form!

In addition to a production, 4A membership may include opportunities to experience Black theatre through social events, lunch seminars, and subsidized trips to go see Black artists performing all over Philly (and possibly Broadway? Stay tuned). There will also be chances to connect with working artists in the field. This group has dozens of inspiring alumni who have gone on to act, direct, write, and produce Black theatre and film on the national scale and many of them would love to share their experience with you!
