What will you do on the day?
An introduction to creative captions and how to create them. As well as being an accessibility tool, captioning can also serve as an artistic tool to enhance the world you are creating within your performance or artistic practice. You will learn how to use free software such as PowerPoint and
Canva with great impact.

Who is it for?
This Masterclass is suitable for beginners as long as they feel comfortable using computer programmes such as PowerPoint. No prior knowledge of captioning is needed.

What do you need to bring?
Bring your own laptop (preferably), tablet or smartphone. We have a few tablets available for loan – please let us know in advance if you need one.

Who is leading this Masterclass?
Porcelain is a disabled theatre maker and multi-disciplinary artist. Her recent show ‘Toilet Paper Diaries’ about life with chronic gynaecological disease received five-star reviews and features embedded creative captions and audio descriptions. In 2023, Porcelain worked on an inclusive dance show, ‘uMoya’, with The Liverpool Biennial and South African dance company UnMute. She also worked with organisations like The Circus Of Horrors, DaDa Fest and Graeae Theatre Company.
