'Let's Talk about Sexual Violence' Course Sign Up
'Let's Talk Sexual Violence' is a three day course run by Rape Crisis Scotland. Once you have completed the course you will be equipped to deliver workshops raising awareness of sexual violence. Conscious intends to deliver these workshops to students at Edinburgh University. It is unlikely we will take on fourth year students because they won't be around to teach the workshops next year.

As this course uses a 'train the trainer' model, we are only planning on running one three day course this semester. The options for when the course will take place have already been decided with RCS staff.

Although there is no confirmed location for the courses yet, you will not be required to travel outside the central Edinburgh area.

The courses will cover themes such as bystander awareness, consent, trauma, coping mechanisms, disclosures, and criminal justice procedures. Conscious has worked with Rape Crisis Scotland to tailor the course to the needs of students. On completion of the course you will not be expected to individually handle disclosures, rather we hope you will feel more confident understanding how sexual violence is dealt with and the effects of it.

If you or someone you know has been affected by sexual violence, please contact the Rape Crisis Scotland hotline on 08088 01 03 02 or visit https://www.rapecrisisscotland.org.uk to access resources and advice.
