Organization/Corporate Team Volunteering with FOSC

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Friends of Sausal Creek! Bringing your team out to the watershed is a great way to give back and build camaraderie. FOSC welcomes organizations and corporations that share our mission to restore and protect the Sausal Creek Watershed and connect people with their local environment.

Filling out this form helps us match your interests with our volunteer opportunities and follow best health and safety practices.

In order to help us best work with you, please fill out this form at least one month ahead of time. We look forward to working together!

**Please note, with the exception of underserved/under-resourced organizations and schools, we have a suggested donation of $15-20 per participant for groups that would like to plan a volunteer event outside of our regularly scheduled activities. This helps us to pay our staff for their additional on-site hours and preparation.**

Team Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Dimond Park & Canyon - Help us create a healthy ecosystem in Dimond Park and Canyon–cleaning up the creek, beautifying the park, pulling up invasive species, and working on erosion control projects.

  • Native Plant Nursery (Joaquin Miller Park) - The nursery is the heart of all restoration projects at FOSC. Help us seed, transplant, recycle pots, and propagate native plants to be planted out in the watershed.

  • Fern Ravine (Joaquin Miller Park) - Help us protect the headwater ecosystems of the Sausal Creek. This site is in a beautiful redwood forest where a decade of FOSC restoration and protection efforts has resulted in a healthier forest and rebounding understory. Check out some recent CBSnews coverage of our work here.

  • Jingletown Native Plant Garden - Green spaces in urban areas are hard to come by. Help us steward this parklet that plays an important role in mitigating climate change and supporting community resilience. Gardens like this naturally sequester carbon, serve as a buffer for pollution, and provide shade and a cool refuge for peoples and animals in urban areas impacted by the “heat island” effect.
