About The Night

Gutter Street Nights is a regular new writing event at Green Note in Camden which has been running for over 5 years. We invite four featured performers to write either a song, monologue, comedy set or poem based around a specific theme. Our nights are open to performers and non performers alike, it's a comfortable, supportive environment for everyone to share their creativity. We have a pub quiz and an open mic at the end where anyone can get up and share their work. We also film the entire night on a 5 camera set up and stream the evening live online for those who can't make it into Camden.

Featured Acts

Featured performers are those who we have asked to take part in the first half of our event. They will have been given a creative theme (No more than 1 month before the event) to curate their set around. Each act will have a maximum 10 minutes to perform their piece, they don't have to fill the entire 10 minutes their set can be as short as they like. We do ask our performers to keep under the 10 minutes so everyone has the same amount of time on stage and we can keep the night on track.

Payment

We offer each Act a guaranteed £15 base Artist Fee for their 10 minute set as well as the edited footage of their performance from our live stream. Each act will also receive a Unique Performer Code they can give to friends and family to purchase tickets with. This code will reduce the price of a ticket by £1. For every ticket bought with your Unique Performer Code (starting from 2 purchases) we will increase your Artist fee. The code can only be used a maximum of 7 times, so if 7 people purchase their tickets using your performer code your Artist fee will be £70 for your set. Breakdown below:

· 0 people buy tickets with your code – Your artist fee is £15

· 1 person buys a ticket with your code - Your artist fee is £15

· 2 people buy tickets with your code - Your artist fee is £20

· 3 people buy tickets with your code - Your artist fee is £30

· 4 people buy tickets with your code - Your artist fee is £40

· 5 people buy tickets with your code - Your artist fee is £50

· 6 people buy tickets with your code - Your artist fee is £60

· 7 people buy tickets with your code - Your artist fee is £70 (This is the maximum Artist Fee Available)

The code can only be used for tickets bought in advance (they can’t be used if someone buys tickets on the door or for the streamed version of the show) and only tickets bought with your unique code will be counted towards the additional payments to your artist fee. Your code can not be used in conjunction with any other discount codes. You will receive weekly updates when we are 4 weeks before the event with how many tickets have been bought with your code, so you can keep track. The day after your performance we will send you the final number of tickets bought with your code and the total Artist Fee to invoice us.

Please note the Artist Fee is per 'Act' not per person. If there are multiple people in your act please make it known and we can discuss further.

Hearing Back From Us

We receive a high volume of submissions for Gutter Street Nights but we do look at, read and watch every single one. Once you have submitted your form we will keep your name and details on file and be in touch regarding an event in the future. As our nights are bi-monthly and we only have 4 featured slots per night we may not get back to you straight away as they do fill up fast. If you would like to come down to one of our events and meet us in person we are at Green Note every other month (dates can be found here) and love chatting and connecting with new creatives. The open mic section of our evening is open to all audience members and we do still film those pieces and send them on if you would like to come down and perform not as a featured act.
