Are you interested in learning what it takes to grow your own food? Do you want to know how you can make a difference and care for the Earth. In our Team Earth club, we will learn about sustainability, life cycles, and more. We will not only plan, be caretakers, and learn good gardening skills but you will reap the fruits of your labor when you taste our harvests and share our harvests with our community. Does this sound like something you are interested in? Do you long to help our school community grow its environmental practices? Then you may be just right for Team Earth!
We will start with a total of 10 (3rd -5th grade students) for the first two sessions this fall and add a group of younger students in the winter/spring. Our goal is to build leadership skills in our older students so they can be mentors to our younger additions in the second half of the year.
Students must be able to attend all meetings and be committed to getting their hands dirty and participate in hands on activities. They must be ready to contribute ideas and share their knowledge on the Morning announcements and at our school Green Fair.
