CALGARY FRINGE THEATRE FESTIVAL 2024 DATES - FRI AUG 2 TO SAT AUG 10, 2024
Eligibility: Any individual or company is eligible to apply to the Calgary Fringe Theatre Festival (hereafter “CFF”). If the primary contact (whom we consider to be the show's
producer) for a company is unable to continue with the production, CFF reserves the right to remove the production from CFF and apply the appropriate withdrawal policy.
Companies accepted into CFF cannot sell or transfer their spot in CFF to another company. The CFF reserves the right the remove a producer, artist, company, etc. from the CFF for any reason they deem necessary or appropriate. Once accepted, Companies have until February 28, 2024 to pay their participation fee unless otherwise arranged with the CFF producers.
Communications: The CFF will work with one individual on behalf of each production. Communication will not be sent to multiple emails or street addresses, and production conversations ahead of the Festival will only be had with the Company's designated contact. Additional contacts will not be responded to. Abuse of this rule may be cause for removal from the festival.
Withdrawal Policy: Companies accepted into the 2024 Calgary Fringe Theatre Festival may withdraw from the event and receive a 100% refund of the participation fee up to and including March 15, 2024. If a company withdraws from CFF after March 15, they forfeit 50% of the participation fee. All notices of withdrawal must be made in writing
via email and signed by the primary contact.
Right to Cancel Confirmed Applicants: CFF reserves the right to cancel confirmed applicants should circumstances arise necessitating a cancellation including: failure to comply with the terms of this agreement, or the policies, procedures and safety guidelines set forth by CFF (see CFF Code of Conduct); failure to complete or adequately meet CFF ToDo deadlines (eg. filling out the Tech and Show Questionnaire or providing media kits in a timely fashion); failure to act in the best interest of CFF; failure to comply with all applicable laws of the Province of Alberta and the City of Calgary; or failure to comply with any venue-specific rules or guidelines.
Constraints on material or content of a show: The only constraints on material or content are for the consideration of legality, and the health and safety of all those involved, including artists, staff, volunteers, and audiences. The Calgary Fringe reserves the right to enforce any necessary measures as needed to ensure a fun and safe event for all.
Unforeseen Circumstances: If CFF or participant performances are delayed, interrupted or prevented by reason of an act of nature, fire, flood, war, public disaster, strikes, labour difficulties, governmental enactment, regulation or order, certified illness, or any other cause beyond CFF's control, CFF will not be liable for any loss of revenue or expenses incurred.
Contract Player/Performer: Upon your acceptance into CFF, it will be understood that you will be considered a contract player/performer/producer of the 2024 Calgary Fringe Theatre Festival (NOT an employee). As a contract player/performer/producer, you are
entitled to receive: 100% of the ticket price (after any credit/debit card fees, ticketing surcharges, GST, and/or with-holding tax); box office and/or FOH support; are a part of general marketing and promotion of the CFF; professional development workshops as may be available. In addition, Fringe Managed Venue (aka FMV) artists receive a minimum six (6) performance slots within the CFF unless extenuating circumstances arise that may limit the amount of performances and venue/tech support; Artist Managed Venue (aka AMV) artists are responsible for their own venue arrangements and related costs, and for setting their own performance schedule upon review and acceptance by the CFF.
