Decolonizing Wealth Project Reparative Philanthropy Community of Practice Application 
Thank you for your interest in DWP's 2024 Reparative Philanthropy Community of Practice! Please take a few minutes to provide some background information on your organization and desire to participate in this exciting opportunity. PLEASE FILL OUT ONLY ONE APPLICATION PER ORGANIZATION.

Submitting this application does not commit you to participating or confirm your spot in the cohort. We will select cohort participants based on space available so we encourage everyone to let us know as soon as possible when you are able to commit to the program. The deadline for completing this form is February 9th and participants will be notified by February 16th. 

We encourage everyone who is applying to save the program dates on your calendars to ensure you are able to attend.We will select one session to be in person and the remaining will be virtual.  We are looking at this range of dates, but each session will only be ONE day.  Once the final cohort is slated, we review the proposed dates to support 100% participation as much as possible. 
  • Session 1: March 5-6, 2024 (virtual)

  • Session 2: May 14-15, 2024 (virtual)

  • Session 3: Sept 24-25, 2024 (in person- location TBD)

  • Session 4: December 3-4, 2024 (virtual)

What reparative philanthropy work is planned or underway within your organization? 

Some examples of reparative philanthropy include: 

*Researching the origins of their wealth and making public apologies

*Moving new grant resources to Black and Indigenous communities

*Supporting movements for reparations and truth and reconciliation in communities 

*Exploring how harm is happening in their investment portfolios and taking steps to divest 

*Incorporating healing practices to support board and staff in their reparative journeys

*Redistributing large sums of endowments to communities or even deciding to spend down

What makes this an ideal time for your organization/leadership to participate in this cohort and what do you hope to get out of it? *
We encourage participants to identify up to 2-3 people in your organization leading the work of deepening relationships with the community through reparative actions. We recommend that at least one C-Suite/ executive staff member and a board member attend. Can you meet this criteria? *
