Rancho del Rey Middle School ASB Application 2021-2022
Thank you for your interest in applying for an Associated Student Body (ASB) position. Being an ASB officer/commissioner is an important job that requires a lot of time, effort, dedication and responsibility. It is very rewarding as it gives you great memories, opportunities to have fun, involves you in school activities and decisions that affect every student.
Potential candidates must complete all parts of the online application and meet all deadlines in the prescreening process or you will be ineligible to apply. NO EXCEPTIONS!

7th grade applications due- April 9th
8th grade applications due- March 12th


To qualify to run for a position, you will be required to submit and meet the requirements contained in this application. Upon completion of the preliminary screening process, which includes: verification of all grades, disciplinary records, attendance, letters of recommendation from teachers, and review of entire application packet you will be given an interview. Upon successful completion of this interview, your scores will be totaled for the entire process and selection of the new ASB will be made.
Being in ASB is an outstanding leadership opportunity and will have a positive impact on your future. Holding a leadership position will help you become a highly qualified candidate for college, scholarships, internships, and jobs. Apply for this position only if you truly have the best interest of the entire student body in mind and have a strong desire to work for their needs versus personal gains. Please keep in mind that you should only join ASB for all the right reasons. Do it to make a positive impact at Rancho del Rey Middle School.
By applying for ASB, you are agreeing to have ASB Leadership as a class in your Period 1-6 schedule and advisory. Having an ASB period is a requirement for being in ASB for 7th grade. For 8th grade their are limited spots for a ASB for advisory only. Student must hold a minimum of a 2.0 GPA in scholarship, with no F’s in any class, and 3.0 GPA in citizenship throughout their academic year. If the student is accepted into ASB, they are required to work at the ASB store during their advisory class, nutrition break, or lunch throughout the school year. Additionally, they will be required to work at school events or attend functions during and beyond the school day. Dates and times of events will vary and transportation may need to be provided. Student attendance and participation are vital.
Disclaimer: Each position in ASB is for a 1 school year commitment. You must reapply each year and you should be aware that you may not be accepted into ASB the following year based on performance.
