Our Mission
The American Society of Rio de Janeiro’s mission is to enhance the lives of Americans and foreign friends living in Rio. We do this through celebrating American culture, building relationships and participating in purpose-driven service projects. 

As a Board, we believe in the power of community and it’s with this belief that we offer our membership. With great enthusiasm and a shared vision for making a positive impact, we invite you to join us.
We provide a strong community and a helpful platform for connection and social opportunities for all ages.  No matter where you’re from in the world, it’s important to have a strong sense of community, English- speaking connections, and lots of fun. You will find all of those things here in this wonderful organization. I personally look forward to meeting you.

The AmSoc offers a range of events that cater to various interests and provide a welcoming and inclusive environment. These include American cultural events and holiday parties, networking and professional development, family events, and purpose driven community service projects.

To join the American Society there is an annual membership fee. We kindly request your financial support in the form of a donation. Your contribution, no matter the size will be a direct and lasting impact on the individuals and families we serve. Donations can be any amount but the average is around R$200 per family. You decide how much.

We are delighted to discuss donation and membership opportunities in more detail, and answer any questions you might have.
