The story you are going to tell will involve publicly sharing the experience of being harmed sexually as a child, witnessing such abuse, and/or advocating on behalf of someone who experienced such abuse.

It is possible that the story you tell may expose you or others to potential criminal and/or civil liability. To decrease the risk of such exposure, we encourage you to use a pseudonym in re-telling your story. We also encourage you to change or omit certain details if the perpetrators or victims of the abuse can be easily identified by your story (e.g., change or omit an individual’s relationship to you, location, age, and so on).
Ultimately, the choice regarding whether to anonymize or omit details regarding your story is your own. However, Brave Voices has the right to alter or modify your story, or choose not to share it at all.

In the event Brave Voices is sued as a result of posting your story, you are agreeing to indemnify, defend, and hold Brave Voices harmless. This means you must pay for any legal defense Brave Voices incurs and pay any monetary damages awarded against Brave Voices.

You also agree that, in the event legal action is taken against you as a result of sharing your story, you cannot sue Brave Voices.
