Badminton Registration 2024 - Term 2&3

Welcome,

Below is the Badminton Winter Sport registration offered at Balmacewen Intermediate. Please note, Badminton games do not commence until Term 3.

Registrations need to be submitted by Friday 3rd May .

Balmacewen has a no pay, no play policy.

Payment for all sports must be made by Sunday, May 5th (End of Week 1, Term 2).

Below is a brief blurb of when and where Badminton is played so your child/children can make an informed choice about which sports they would like to participate in.

In most sports, parent help is desperately needed. If there is not enough parent help, some students will not be able to play their desired sport/s. Please consider offering to help coach/manage/co-manage your child's sports team, it is very much appreciated!

If you are thinking about offering your assistance but are not too sure what is required, please get in touch with either the Teacher in Charge of the sport or our Sports Coordinator Kate Ebrahim and they will be more than happy to talk you through it.

Being apart of sport teams and sport events at Balmacewen Intermediate is all about developing the understanding of what independence and responsibility is and what being a team player is all about. Therefore, it is vital for all students who sign up for sport, to remember;

- Attend any meetings or uniform handouts

- Attend trainings before school, during lunchtime or after school

- Listen carefully to the school daily notices for information

- Communicate clearly with either there coaches/manages/TIC or our Sports Coordinator if needed.

Badminton ($40)

Badminton is traditionally played on a Tuesday at the Otago Badminton Centre during Term 3.

Competition Name: 2023 Primary Schools Challenge Shield Competition

Season Dates: TBC, (Term. 3)

Game times: TBC (Term. 3)

Students will need to find their own way to and from the Otago Badminton Centre.

Playing uniforms; Correct Balmacewen PE uniform is to be worn.

Playing Equipment: Own Rackets.

(If students are needing to borrow a Badminton Racket, they are welcome to borrow one form school).

Competitive Trainings: Thursday after school, in the school hall. Starting 3.15pm - 4.15pm.

Trainings Start: Week 2, Term 2 (9th May)

Development Trainings: Thursday Lunchtime, in the school hall. Starting 12.25pm-1.05pm
