Latin Sparks Festival - Application - Volunteer Bartender
The Latin Sparks Festival is Canada's largest Latin dance party! Please read through the requirements and submit your application prior to the submission deadline.

Bartenders will work in a team to service festival goers with alcoholic beverages which include a variety of beer, straight shots of liquor, and simple mixed beverages. No knowledge of other mixed drinks will be required.

*Special note to returning Bartenders: Latin Sparks Festival has recently become a registered Not-For-Profit organization and is now recruiting Volunteer Bartenders who will be earning tips throughout the event. Despite the change, this year all Bartenders will be receiving a $50 flat fee for their work at the event, in addition to all tips collected.

Responsibilities
-Prepare bar essentials and organize bar at the start of the night.
-Serve guests beverages at the bar.
-Ensure that guests show proof of legal drinking age identified by the colour of their event wristband. Bar staff will receive instructions on the designated colour on the day of the event.
-Maintain a clean bar area throughout the night.
-Close and clean bar area at the end of the night.
Accountability
a. Bar staff working in one bar will be collectively responsible for the alcohol and money received.

b. At the end of their shift, bartenders, along with the Bar Manager, will count the remaining inventory of beer, liquor, and water.

i. Beer inventory will be counted at the start and end of the event; bartenders will be responsible to provide monetary value of the beer sold.

ii. Liquor inventory will be counted at the start and end of the event; bartenders will be responsible to provide monetary value of the liquor sold.

iii. Water bottle inventory will be counted at the start and end of the event; bartenders will be responsible for providing monetary value of the water sold.

c. Bartenders will be financially responsible for a discrepancy between the amount of inventory remaining and the money received.

d. Bartenders will have leniency of 2%.
Pay
-Bartenders will be provided a $50 flat fe plus tips for the event. Note: Latin Sparks Festival cannot guarantee tips from customers.

-Bartenders will be required to tip out Bar-Back and Bar Manager.

Conditions
-Bartenders must prove completion of the Smart Serve Training Program and carry their permit on site.

-In the case of event cancellation before or during the event, no compensation will be provided by Latin Sparks Festival.
