• Early Childhood Screening is provided free by the State of MN for all children ages 3-5 (ages 3 is best!). It is a simple check of how your child is developing and growing in the following areas: Cognitive Development, Large & Small Muscle Development, Language & Communication Skills, Social & Emotional Development, Vision & Hearing, Growth, & Health History. The purpose of Early Childhood Screening is to help close the achievement gap by helping to identify potential developmental or health problems that could interfere with a child’s learning. Identifying any areas early will allow your child to get a head start before entering kindergarten.

http://bit.ly/MNScreening Dassel-Cokato Schools hosts Early Childhood Screening at the St. John's Education Center, 17260 US-12, Cokato. (Just west of the high school complex on Highway 12).
- Appointments average between 1.5 to 2 hours.
- You will receive a screening paperwork packet in the mail the week prior to the appointment. Please bring the completed paperwork with to the appointment.
- If possible, we ask that only the child being screened and the parent/guardian(s) attend to allow the child being screened to do their best without distractions. (Childcare NOT available.)
