Why does Jesus talk to the Samaritan woman? How does he get her interested in knowing who he is? Please choose the answer that best aligns with your thinking.

Jesus wants the woman at the well to believe in him and to ask for the salvation he offers through Baptism. He gets her attention by asking her for water; this is intriguing because of the antagonism between Samaritans and Jews. Jesus engages her in the conversation.
