INTRODUCTION: Critical thinking (hereinafter, CT) is a key for raising and preparing global
citizens, as well as ensuring and enhancing citizenship education. It is not only a fundamental
principle for an academic community or in any educational setting (formal and non-formal) but
also can and should be applied in our everyday activities (daily work) as well as in our
professional work. CT is particularly an important competence for project coordination,
supervision and/ or management, for any project manager, officer and coordinator, whether that
person is in the phase of writing down a project grant proposal, whether she/ he is already
implementing that project, whether she/ he is already writing down the project interim or final
reports. At the same time it is a universal tool; it can be used by the both side – the project
implementer and the project evaluator, i.e. the one that got the grant and implements the project,
and the other one – who gives the grant and coordinates or supervises it.

In other words, it stands at the center of work and collaboration between the grantee and
grant-giver.

The current training session AIMS at providing basic knowledge and improving practical skills on
CT and its application in relation to project management, particularly focusing on the
following points:
· What CT is.
· Why it is important to apply CT in our professional activities.
· Introduction to a basic CT model.
· What a project life cycle is.
· Why CT is important to be considered and applied in a project context.
· Quiz on CT self-assessment.
· Getting practical tips on how to develop CT.
