Board Member Requirements
  • Attend regularly schedule OCSS board meetings (this will occur bi-monthly)
  • Work in a field related to social studies
Board Member Suggestions
  • Member of NCSS (National Council for the Social Studies)
  • Join a OCSS sub-committee after election

  1. explore and develop areas of common interest among members at all educational levels, including higher education

  2. arrange programs in social studies

  3. promote research and development of issues and projects that may be beneficial to the membership

  4. provide support for educational issues important to the membership 

  5. encourage improvement in curriculum and instruction; and gather and disseminate relevant information
