Applied Genealogy Institute (AppGen) requests Preliminary Proposals for the 2022 Fall Institute, scheduled at a time convenient for the instructor in October/November of 2022. We want to see what you would like to teach!
Preliminary Proposals (this form) are due 15 March 2022.
AppGen is a virtual institute that focuses on practicum-based education in small group settings of 15. A variety of ethnic, methodology, records and topical research courses are presented twice a year in the fall and winter by content experts. You can see our Fall 2021 and our Winter 2022 offerings on the website.
We are interested in all proposals related to ethnicity (diverse cultures encouraged), unique record sets, broad topical research (including DNA), and methodology. The content should appeal to intermediate to the advanced learner. Because of the small class size, there is an opportunity for unique topics that have narrower appeal. Each session is approximately 15 hours of class time, once per week for four weeks. The instruction may include presentations, in-class exercises, and other activities related to the topic. Be innovative!
Interested parties will propose in a two tier proposal process. Completing this Preliminary Proposal is the first step. See the website (
https://appliedgen.institute) for descriptions of the timeline.
