Reimagine social media, embrace open science. Join our hands-on workshop to set up your Mastodon account and connect with academic peers. Mastodon is a non-commercial, open-source social media platform, offering dedicated research-focused spaces for scholarly connection and discourse.

Following the practical session, we'll have an open floor for discussion. What's the difference between Mastodon and Bluesky? Is it worth adding another platform to your digital presence? Join us to explore these questions over networking drinks.

Babette Knauer is head of communications at the University of Groningen Library (UB) where she developed the UB’s Mastodon strategy.
