PALS (Play and Learn Stuff) Activities Week
PALS is a free one-week programme of arts activities for 11 - 13 year olds, organised by Out of the Blue, as part of the Scottish Government’s ‘Get into Summer’ programme.
Over one week in August, children in Leith will have the chance to try new activities, meet new pals and ‘play and learn stuff’! Recognising that many children have missed out on the traditional school transition activities, we aim to create a fun, friendly and safe environment for children to mix and make new friends. The activities will all be based in Out of the Blue Drill Hall, and will feature:
● ‘Quick on the Draw!’ - Visual art, drawing and comics with Out of the Blueprint
● ‘Act the Part!’ - Drama, games and performance with Strange Town Youth Theatre
● ‘Learn to Fly’ - Aerial dance and circus activities with All or Nothing
On the first day, children will have the chance to try all activities, before deciding which artform they want to do for the rest of the week.
Dates - Monday 2 August - Friday 6 August
Time: 1 - 5pm daily
Location: Out of the Blue Drill Hall
Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
To register a child for the week, please fill out the form below
NB - Please note the programme is specifically aimed at young people in the Leith Academy catchment area, who have moved last year or are moving up to secondary school in August, and places will be offered on a rolling basis to these children first. Any additional free places will then be confirmed on Monday 26th July.
The week has been organised in line with Scottish Government guidance and will be subject to a final risk assessment following the anticipated changes to the current restrictions on 19 July. Further full information will be sent to all participants a week in advance on Monday 26th July.
